Tea Guide

Tea is more than a beverage-it’s a ritual. This guide was created to help you approach loose leaf with confidence and ease.

🍃 LOOSE LEAF 101

Loose leaf tea is made of whole or larger pieces of tea leaves, rather than the finely broken fragments often found in traditional tea bags.

Because the leaves remain intact, they have space to fully open in hot water. This allows for a smoother, more balanced flavor and a more complete experience in the cup.

Loose leaf tea is not complicated.
It is simply tea in its most natural form.

At Steeped~N~Luxury, we choose loose leaf for quality, intention, and the ritual it invites.

🌡️BREWING BASICS

Brewing loose leaf tea comes down to three simple elements:

Measurement.
Temperature.
Time.

Measurement
Use one ritual spoon (5 ml) per 8 oz of water.
This equals approximately 2–3 grams of tea.

Water Temperature
• Black Tea – 200–212°F
• Green Tea – 170–180°F
• White Tea – 175–185°F
• Herbal - 205–212°F

Gentler teas prefer gentler water.

Steep Time
• Black – 3–4 minutes
• Green – 2–3 minutes
• White - 3–4 minutes
• Herbal – 5–7 minutes

If your tea tastes bitter, try steeping for less time.
If it tastes light, add slightly more tea or steep a bit longer.

There is no perfection required—only small adjustments.

Tea is not about rules. It is about rhythm.

☕ Tea & Ritual FAQs

Thoughtfully crafted answers to help you enjoy your loose-leaf experience with confidence.

  • Loose leaf tea is best enjoyed using a tea infuser or fine mesh strainer. This allows the leaves to fully expand and release their flavor. If you’re new to loose leaf, a simple reusable infuser works beautifully.

  • Each 10g pouch yields approximately 3–4 cups depending on your preferred strength. We recommend 3g (about one Ritual Spoon) per 8 oz cup.

  • Not at all. While a digital scale offers precision, your Ritual Spoon was chosen to simplify the experience. One spoon per cup is the perfect starting point.

  • Different teas require different temperatures to preserve flavor and avoid bitterness. Green and white teas prefer lower temperatures, while black and herbal teas thrive in near-boiling water. Temperature enhances the ritual — it isn’t complication, it’s care.

  • Yes. Most loose leaf teas can be steeped 2–3 times. Each infusion reveals new depth and nuance.
